Nowadays, it is widely known that programming is an extremely important skill, and it is even called the language of the future. The software industry has been developing for more than half a century, and the demand for skilled programmers is constantly growing as it turns out that they are needed even in companies that are not directly related to programming. Many schools around the world have already introduced mandatory programming classes, and more and more materials and tools are appearing on the market to help the beginners learn. However, if you are not fully convinced, we present to you 5 reasons why we think it is worth investing your time, energy and money in it.
1. Development of creativity and logical thinking
Everybody should learn to program a computer, because it teaches you how to think - Steve Jobs
Every day at work of a programmer is a new, sometimes really big challenge, but thanks to this it is not monotonous and you can develop both your creativity and logical thinking by solving current problems. This industry allows you to create unique products tailored to the customer's needs and, as you know, there are as many ideas for a given solution as there are people and companies. In addition, a developer does not have to be " a code monkey"! Coding combined with electronics and robotics allows you to create an infinite number of products for home and industrial use!
2. Satisfaction of helping others
Programmers feel that their work has a positive impact on the lives of people around the world by making their daily duties easier and faster, so that they have more time for themselves and their close ones. Every day solutions are created to make our lives better, easier, healthier or safer. Traffic lights, instant messengers, online shops, chatbots improving our well-being - all of them were created thanks to the involvement of, among others, qualified programmers. Isn't it comforting to know that masses of programmers are watching over us? 😊
Of course! This point must have come up here. After all, the IT industry is one of the most lucrative industries in the world. In Poland qualified programmers can earn between 12,000 and 15,000 PLN gross. According to Business Insider some companies offer developers even PLN 30,000 gross! It is worth emphasizing, the programmers' earnings are steadily growing. But please bear in mind that the amount of remuneration depends largely on your seniority level, skills, size of the company and its position on the market, as well as the specificity of a given project.
4. Comfortable work
Programmers also greatly appreciate the comfort of work, which the IT industry gives them. This means that in many companies the work is flexible in terms of hours and place. Sometimes their work for a given day ends with the completion of the task assigned to them. Thanks to this they have more time to wind down and e.g. explore the places where they are currently staying. 😊 They also point out that thanks to such conditions they are more focused on their tasks, more motivated, creative and do their work with much more enthusiasm.
5. Work within reach
Though there is no shortage of programmers these days, sadly, most of them do not go beyond the Junior Developer level. The demand for specialists in this industry is constantly growing and it does not seem to change in the next 10 years. Just go to such career portals as NoFluffJobs or Bulldogjob to see how many job offers appear each day. Moreover, it is believed that the IT industry will be extremely difficult to automate, so programmers can be confident of their position for at least the next decade! 😊
Whether you want to uncover the secrets of the universe, or you just want to pursue a career in the 21st century, basic computer programming is an essential skill to learn- Stephen Hawking
